How to Structure an Essay Like a Professional

Every single level of your academic journey will require you to write an essay of some kind. That’s why it’s extremely important to know how to structure your essays, so you don’t lose on your quality and get the highest marks possible. As see in one of the examples at www.ninjaessays.org, coherent ideas must be tied together with a good argument and organized properly throughout your essay. Here’s how you should structure it:

1) A Clear Start

Begin with a concise and clear introductionthat will include the aim and topic of your essay, and also explains the title of the essay. Make sure to state what you are trying to explain and highlight some of the points from the main body. Keep it clear, simple and include your general statement as well as a thesis statement.

2) One Idea, One Paragraph

The body should consist of several paragraphs. These paragraphs aren’t just for the sake of the beauty, they are there to separate ideas one from another. One paragraph should represent one idea.

3) Include a Signpost Sentence

These sentences come at the beginning of each paragraph. It serves an indicator of all the points you want to make in the following paragraph. Try to use some keywords from the main title in your signpost sentences, which will serve as a reminder for your reader and yourself, and always remind you what the topic is about.

4) Go Over Key Points in Your Conclusion

Conclusion should be a glimpse on the essential points you’ve made in your essay, specifically through your paragraphs. Summarize all the key points, and don’t introduce any new ideas.

5) Give Your Judgment

The ending of the essay is reserved for your opinion and judgment. This is where you give your final decision on the all issues discussed in the essay. Try to make it clear, don’t pose question or give ambiguous answers, but try to persuade the reader that you know what the answer is.

Although everyone has different methods and secrets to writing an essay, this structure should be the core of every academic essay. It will make your writing a breeze to read and because of the clearly outlined key points, you’ll get the desired message out there more effectively.
